Wheel Throwing Intermediate II (Dinnerware)

Progressing on from our Intermediate I course, students will get to deepen their ceramic skills while focusing on creating functional tableware and dinnerware. Building on foundational techniques already learnt, this course will guide you through the process of designing and molding bowls and plates. With an emphasis on proportion and form, you will learn how to create cohesive dinnerware sets that balance function with artistry. Whether you are looking to refine your craft or to build a functional ceramic collection, this course will equip you with the skills to elevate your pottery practice.

Lesson Topics

Lesson 1 to 4: Shaping and Forming Bowls, Trimming
Lesson 5: Glazing
Lesson 6 to 9: Shaping and Forming Plates, Trimming
Lesson 10: Glazing

Though we have in place a structured curriculum for our learners, you are highly encouraged to share with us your preferred pottery style or goals so the studio can adapt the curriculum to achieve your desired outcomes. This approach ensures that you are not only mastering techniques but also forging a creative path that is aligned with your pottery vision.

With our flexi weekly classes framework, this course will allow you to balance your pottery journey with your daily commitments to ensure you get the most out of the course.

After completing this course, students can consider joining our Wheel Throwing Advanced I to challenge themselves to throw larger and more complex forms. All students moving onto further courses or the Co-Working Studio Membership will be able to enjoy a 5% discount.

Course Description

  • 10 lessons X 2.5 hours
  • 10kg of studio clay will be provided
  • Personal shelf space, storage box and tool set will be provided
  • Own personal access code into studio
  • Access to all available studio equipment, tools, unlimited glazes and underglazes.
  • Complimentary 8 pots glaze-fired (each piece <400g and <14cm in height)
  • Complimentary 10 studio hours for self-practice which requires booking
  • Flexible lesson days and timings which require booking
  • Valid for 16 weeks from payment date (no extensions allowed, students to keep track)

Weekly Classes

Wednesdays 7pm to 9.30pm

Saturdays 10am to 12.30pm / 1.30pm to 4pm

All classes will need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance via our booking portal. Access will be given upon package purchase.
